What are the maximum levels?

The maximum permitted levels for all substances are 0.1% of the homogeneous material’s weight, except for Cadmium, which is limited to 0.01%.

Note: These limits are not applicable to the weight of the finished product, subset or component. The EU has defined the concept of homogonous as a unique substance which could (in theory) physically separate itself from other substances (e.g., a component’s
lead-soldering, cable insulation etc.).
Consequently, a component will normally contain various different homogonous materials.

Note: batteries are not included in the RoHS directive, NiCD batteries are permitted in finished products as long as the use of Cadmium is restricted.
